9/15/10 - 1st Chemo treatment

Bring Matthew to community center - then on my way to the NYDOH to meet with Dr. K and get blood work, and yuppp....start Chemo.  I have to say - I don't think I was very nervous - I have to do this.  When they called me into the room - a nurse named Felicia from Heaven, then Kenya to here - she was very nice - I could listen to her talk all day as well.  She had me pick a spot to sit - the chairs have massagers in them with heat - I first sat in front of a huge tv - but then saw a woman in the corner - ok, for those of you know me....'chatty Cathy'. So I moved next to her. She's must know what's going on - what to expect ...Her name is Pam.
So Felicia came back to explain to me what she was giving me and how to take my medicines and then it started - I asked if she could numb port but because it was new it still sore and it would probably be more painful - she said take a deep breath with her - I didnt feel anything alittle poke.  it was fine! first salty water - they nausea medicine thru my port -
While I was having the nausea medicine going in - Barb came over - she's my neighbor - a friend, and coincidentally works there nice to see a familiar face.  We were talking about motorcycles, thats when Pam mentioned she & her husband both ride - Pam has a low rider (thats what I want) anyway - she seems very nice - her schedule is different then mine - but maybe we'd be there together another time.
When Felicia came back over to give me the Chemo - I told her I could feel it - she said "what do you feel" I couldnt explain it - so she noticed I had my hands in fist - and that I was anxious - so she gave me something to make me more relaxed.  A woman from Tax & Finance - a breast cancer survivor came to see me - we've chatted via email / phone but never before met - she & my mom were talking - so Felicia wanted me to pay attention to the ladies - she probably started the chemo again - without me paying attention she asked if I felt anything and I didnt - so....must have been my nerves.  Next I knew it was over.
